A local body of believers in Christ in Quilcene

Our identities are rooted first and foremost in Christ. We believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are Christian.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT:

Scripture

We believe in the Holy inspiration of the Old and New Testament Scriptures. We understand that God’s revelation to man came about as the Holy Spirit inspired the thoughts of man, resulting in an inerrant and infallible truth in the original documents. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 2:13

Godhead

We believe in one triune God, consisting of 3 persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We understand they possess the same divine attributes, essence, and substance of being. They are 3 distinct persons, eternal in being and coequal in power and glory. Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Philippians 2:6

Man's Creation and Fall

We believe in the immediate creation of man in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam's sin, man became alienated from God, acquired a sin nature and came under a sentence of judicial condemnation and death. Genesis 1:25-27; James 3:9; Romans 3:22-23; Romans 8:5-8

Marriage

We believe that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. We believe that union otherwise is out of harmony with the Word of God and inimical to the work of God. Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Corinthians 7:1-3

Person and Work of Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a propitiatory and substitutionary sacrifice, and that our redemption is made sure to us by His literal resurrection from the dead in the identical, though glorified body in which He was crucified. John 1:1-2; John 5:17-19; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Peter 1:3-5

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is now exalted at the right hand of God where He fulfills the ministry of High Priest, Intercessor and Advocate. Hebrews 9:24; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2

We believe in Christ's future return in glory and power to reign on earth. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 3:10; Zachariah 14:4-11; Revelation 20:6

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, permanently indwells all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, seals all believers until the day of redemption, and that all believers are commanded to be repeatedly filled with the Spriit. John 16:8; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:30; Ephesians 5:18

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God offered to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God. Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 2:11-14

We believe that all the redeemed are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38, 39; 1 Peter 1:5

The Church

We believe that the invisible universal church is the spiritual body of Christ composed of all born-again believers. Colossians 1:18; 1 Peter 1:3; Ephesians 3:10

The Final State

We believe in a literal and eternal judgement for the unsaved, and eternal salvation for believers. Psalm 9:17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 20:10-15

We look forward in anticipation to spending eternity in the presence of Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13
